This girl just KNOWS she’s a princess, and sets out to prove it to the world. On her way to the castle, she learns that giving service is better than commanding servants, inner beauty is more important than a fancy dress, and love of self is more fulfilling than attention from adoring fans. Best of all, she finds out that she has been a True Princess all along.
I wrote and illustrated (watercolor and ink) this rhyming story for my niece, a beautiful and intelligent princess, and with my little daughter in mind. In a world that puts such an emphasis on status and outward appearances, I don’t want them to lose sight of what really matters, and the fact that they are truly beautiful, just the way they are. I know, it sounds a little cheesy, but I mean it! It’s a great message for girls and women of all ages to remember.
The message contains a light non-denominational religious overtone, in that it implies that all little girls are daughters of the King, and therefore they are princesses. Nothing in-your-face or preachy, just uplifting and encouraging.
